Odisha CM Majhi Announces Flood Assistances For Balasore District

Bhubaneswar, Sept 25: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced financial assistance of Rs 1,20,000 each to families whose houses were damaged in the recent floods in the Balasore district. 

He also announced assistance of Rs 6,500 each for partially damaged pucca houses, Rs. 4000 for partially damaged kutcha houses, Rs 8,000 for huts, and Rs 3,000 for cowsheds. 

If the house of any family is destroyed or submerged in flood water for two days, financial assistance of Rs 2500 will be provided for clothes and Rs 2500 for utensils, the CM announced.

Small and marginal farmers will be provided financial assistance of Rs 8,500 per hectare for non-irrigated areas, Rs 17,000 per hectare for irrigated land, and Rs 22,500 per hectare for all types of perennial crops.

There was a flood situation in Balasore district due to heavy rains in this month. 

Chief Minister Majhi visited Balasore on September 18 and reviewed the flood situation in the district. Eight fire tenders, three ODRAF teams, and one NDRF team have been deployed for rescue operations.
