Odisha CM Inaugurates Badminton High Performance Centre At  Kalinga Stadium Complex

Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated a state-of-the-art badminton high-performance centre (HPC) at the iconic Kalinga stadium complex in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the badminton high-performance centre will offer world-class training and coaching facilities under the direct supervision and guidance of badminton legend and coach Pullela Gopichand.

The facility will host national and international badminton tournaments, he added.

The Odisha government has provided three acres of land, where Dalmia Bharat Group built the infrastructure at a cost of Rs 55 crore, and former chief national coach Gopichand brought in the technical expertise.

Assam Chief Minister and president of Badminton Association of India (BAI), Himanta Biswa Sarma; Odisha’s Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj; Badminton legend and coach Pullela Gopichand; Managing Director of Dalmia Bharat Limited, Puneet Dalmia were, among others, present on the occasion.
