Odia Author Baishnab Charan Samal Wins Sahitya Akademi Award 2024

Bhubaneswar, Dec 18: Odia author Prof. Baishnab Charan Samal will be conferred the Sahitya Akademi Award 2024 for his book “Bhuti Bhakti Bibhuti,” officials said on Wednesday.

The ‘Bhuti Bhakti Bibhuti’ narrates the universal religious acceptance of Lord Jagannath and the Jagannath consciousness.

Born on 27 January 1939, Samal started his career as a lecturer in a government college. He retired as a Professor at Visva-Bharati University in Shantiniketan in 2004. He has authored as many as 120 books, so far.
