Nor'wester Rain Brings Slight Relief From Scorching Heat In Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 7: Rain and Thunderstorm have brought some relief from the blistering heat in Odisha.

The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, has further issued orange and yellow warnings for the rainfall activity for next three days beginning from today.

As per the weather department, thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH and Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Nuapada, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.

IMD has advised people to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places to be protected from lightning strike.  

Meanwhile, Balangir boiled at  44.5 °C as seven places record 43 degree Celsius temperature or above on Monday.
