Bhubaneswar, Apr 28: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for extreme heat in twin city.
As the daytime temperature has crossed 40°C in several parts of Odisha, the meteorological department has issued the alert.
The meteorological department has also said that the temperature will further increase by 2-4 degrees in the next few days.
At least until May 4, there will be no respite from the heat, the weather centre further said.
In Bhubaneswar, the temperature is standing at 41.6°C by 11:30 AM.

Chandbali- 40.2°C
Keonjhar- 40°C
Jharsuguda- 39.5°C
Sambalpur- 39.4°C
Rourkela- 39.4°C
Hirakud- 37.8°C
Puri- 34.2°C
Gopalpur- 33.5°C
Paradip- 33.4°C
