Sundargarh, Aug 4: In another such incident, an elderly man was carried on a cot for 2 km to reach a hospital due to the lack of a motorable road in a village in Sundargarh district.

This is just another incident that indicated no development activities were undertaken in rural areas during the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government.

According to the information, the disturbing incident has occurred in Patakijore village of Sanapatrapalli village under Tangarapalli block. Bichhu Dandasena fell ill and his family members called for an ambulance. However, the ambulance stopped midway as no motorable road was connected to the village.

With no option left, village youth carried ailing Dandasena on a cot for two km to reach the stranded Ambulance. Then, he was carried by ambulance to the hospital.

Villagers alleged that the administration was yet to respond to their demands.

"We have urged the block administration to construct a pucca road in the village. However, the administration is yet to take any action," alleged villagers.
