Bhubaneswar, Feb 29: At a time when general elections are approaching fast, a media survey has come out with a list of the 100 Most Powerful Indians in the country, according to which Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues grabbing the No.1 position and the position of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has waned drastically.

According to the Indian Express(IE) 100 2024 report, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has come down from 42 in 2023 to 47 in 2024, whereas senior BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has climbed up the list from 59 in 2023 to 33 in 2024.

"Crossing 26 steps in the ladder list of the most powerful persons is not a small matter in an election year. This will have a very positive impact in the ensuing 2024 elections in favour of the BJP in Odisha," said a political analyst.

The IE 100 also reported that Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, another BJP leader from Odisha, has also ranked up. He climbed up six steps from 19 in 2023 to 13 in 2024.

The list figures Home Minister Amit Shah on the second rank, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Chief Mohan Bhagwat on the third, UP Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath on sixth, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on seventh, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on eighth, BJP president JP Nadda on ninth and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Principal Secretary PK Mishra on the 52nd position.
