Mayurbhanj: Two Killed, Three Critical In Tusker Attack

Baripada, Sept 24: Tusker attack in the state continues to grow as two persons were killed in a tusker attack in Mayurbhanj district.

The tusker, reportedly coming from West Bengal before entering Mayurbhanj borders, wreaked havoc in Deuli, Rasgovindpur and Betanati range.

According to reports, a person died and two ended up in critical condition in Suliapada police station area in the tusker attack Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Raghunath Hembram from Sunpuria village, while the injured persons have been identified as Luski Soren from Pokharia village and Sarbeswar Singh from Tadaki village.

The tusker had then headed to Ulidihi village in Gholamuhan GP under Morada police station limits Tuesday morning. A woman, identified as Sakra Hembram, died in the attack. 

Later the tusker entered Betanati forest range and continued its havoc leaving Anua village's Suga Mohanta in critical condition. The injured was carried to a nearby hospital by the forest department officials for treatment.
