Puri, Aug 27: At least 30 houses were gutted after a major fire broke out at Alisa village under Stayabadi block in Puri district on late Monday night.

According to the reports, the fire broke out in a house in the village late night and rapidly spread to other dwellings in the area.

While one person sustained critical burn injuries, three cows were burnt alive in the mishap.

Though the exact reason behind fire mishap is not known, it is suspected that a short circuit might have caused the flames.Fifteen families have been rendered homeless due to the fire.
