Shimla, July 25: Marking the 25th anniversary of the Kargil War, the Headquarters of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) in Shimla is celebrating the 'Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav.'
The event, featuring an exhibition and various shows, has captivated the public, drawing large crowds to the Ridge Grounds in Shimla.
The event and the festivities surrounding it were inaugurated by Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, the General Officer Commanding in Chief of ARTRAC, on Thursday.
This celebration not only pays tribute to the valiant soldiers of the Kargil War but also promotes entrepreneurship among Army officers' wives and local women.
"This initiative on Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorates 25 years of victory and promotes entrepreneurship. It also educates the public about the Indian Army," said Archana Jha, an entrepreneur and Army spouse.
Every year on July 26, 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' is celebrated to honour the brave hearts who laid down their lives to protect the sovereignty country in the 1999 war. 527 soldiers gave the ultimate sacrifice in the battle that took place in the Kargil region of Jammu and Kashmir.
