Many BJD Leaders And Workers Join BJP In Ganjam

Berhampur, Oct 14: In a major jolt to the Ganjam unit of the Biju Janata Dal, over a hundred leaders and workers quit the regional party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a progamme held at Polsara in Ganjam district on Monday. 

The joining event was organised in the premises of Maa Singhasani, the presiding deity of Polsara. Fisheries and Animal Resources Development and MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallick welecomed the new entrants by giving them shawls and caps of the party.  

"We were neglected by BJD leaders. Our grievances were not given any importance. We felt suffocated as there were no deveopment activities in the area," said a disgruntled leader. 

He said the leaders and workers of the party joined the BJP after being inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senor leaders of the BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development work inspired me, said another leader. 

The Minister said development can be done in the Polsara assembly constituency area with the cooperation of all leaders and workers.
