Bhubaneswar, July 13: Rain is likely to lash Odisha for seven days from July 15 to 21 as the cyclonic circle is all set to turn into a low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, said Meteorological officials.
The Bahuda Yatra of Puri's holy Trinity is expected to be celebrated amid inundation due to possible heavy rains on Monday.
According to the India Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, a cyclonic circulation is likely to be formed in the Bay of Bengal on July 14. The next day, it will be turned into a low-pressure and subsequently intensified into a depression. It is expected to move through the Odisha coast on July 20. Rain is likely to occur in many places across the State by its impact.
According to the IMD, rain is also expected to occur at many places in north and coatal parts of Odisha. Districts like Mayurbhanj,
Keonjhar, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Rayagada will receive rain.
Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Deogarh will witness rain tomorrow.
On Bahuda Yatra day on July 15, eight districts, including Kandhamal, Ganjam and Gajapati will witness rain.
