Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: Cyclone Dana completed the landfall process on Friday morning and weakened into a cyclonic storm,informed India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The system moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 10 kmph and is about 30 km northeast of Bhadrak and 50 km north-northwest of Dhamra.
Later, it weakened into a cyclonic storm over north coastal Odisha with the completion of the landfall process. It is likely to move northwestwards across north Odisha and weaken gradually into a deep depression in the next six hours, the IMD said in a bulletin.
Meanwhile, NDRF has started restoration work at Kendrapada, Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur after the landfall of the cyclone.
