Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi Appointed CJ of Jharkhand High Court

Cuttack, July 3: Justice Dr Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, a judge in Orissa High Court now, has been appointed as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.  

A notification to this effect was issued by the Ministry of Law on Wednesday. 

The Supreme Court Collegium had, on December  27, 2023, recommended Justice Sarangi's name to the Union Government for the appointment of Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court. President Droupadi Murmu recently approved his name for the coveted judicial post. 

After the President's nod, the Law Ministry issued the notification regarding Justice Sarangi's appointment as Jharkhand High Court CJ Today. 

Justice Sarangi started his judicial career as a lawyer in 1985. He was appointed as a judge in Orissa High Court in 2013. During his stint in the Orissa Court, he has passed many important verdicts. He also served as Acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court for a few months.
