IPS Arun Kumar Sarangi Takes VRS, Given Grand Farewell

Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: Senior IPS officer Arun Kumar Sarangi took voluntary retirement today, 10 months ahead of his actual retirement date, with due permission from the State government. 

Sarangi was given a grand reception at the Biju Patnaik State Police Training Academy, where he served to date as Director and Special General of Police (Training). Trainee police personnel organized a parade in honour of Sarangi. 

Meanwhile, the State government has appointed him as the Chairman, Odisha Public Service Commission. Senior IPS officer Sanjib Panda has been appointed as Director, Biju Patnaik State Police Training Academy. 

Sarangi will remain in his new as Chairman of Odisha Public Service Commission for a term of six years from the date he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of sixty-two years, whichever is earlier.

Sarangi’s service as the OPSC chairman will be regulated per the Odisha Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1952.
