IPS Arun Kumar Sarangi Appointed As OPSC Chairman

Bhubaneswar, Sep 27: The Odisha government on Friday appointed senior IPS officer and former In-Charge Director General of Police (DGP), Arun Kumar Sarangi as Chairman of Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) for a period of six years.

“……., the Governor of Odisha has been pleased to appoint Shri Arun Kumar Sarangi, IPS, Special Director General of Police (Training) and Director, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy, Odisha as Chairman, Odisha Public Service Commission for a term of six years from the date he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of sixty-two years, whichever is earlier,” reads a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department

Sarangi, a 1990 batch IPS officer, served as Odisha’s in-charge DGP from December 31, 2023, till senior IPS officer Yogesh Bahadur Khurania assumed the office on August 16, 2024.

He was Special DGP (Training) and Director of the Biiu Patnaik State Police Academy in his last assignment.
