Bhubaneswar, Dec 16: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a yellow warning for cold wave and dense fog conditions in several districts in Odisha for the next two days.
According the IMD’s latest bulletin, cold wave condition is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Angul till 8.30 am on Tuesday. The IMD issued a yellow weather warning for these districts till tomorrow morning.
Similarly, a yellow alert for dense fog has been issued for Koraput and Kandhamal districts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The weathermen also forecast that shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a many places across the State during the period.
Meanwhile, at least 15 places in the State recorded temperatures below 10 degree Celsius with Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district, the coldest in the state at 1 degree Celsius.
The weathermen said that the prevailing cold weather was due to the dry and cold northwesterly winds flowing towards the state.
