IMD Issues Thunderstorm And Lightning Alert For Several Districts In Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Sep 28: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning over several districts in Odisha during the next 24 hours.

According to the IMD’s midday bulletin, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Balasore, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nuapada and Kalahandi till 8. 30 AM of Sunday.

A yellow weather alert has been issued for these nine districts during the period.

The weathermen also predicted light to moderate rain or thundershower at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places in the State in the last 24 hours, the bulletin said.
