Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning predicting thunderstorms with lighting to occur in many parts of Odisha in the next five days. 

Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Nawarangpur and Kalahandi by tomorrow morning.

Such a condition is also expected till March 17 morning in districts such as f Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Jajpur. 

Thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Cuttack.

Thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Bhadrak.

Similarly, a Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Khurda, Nayagarh and Heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Angul .

The Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar also informed that the highest maximum temperature of 39.8°C was recorded at Boudh and the lowest minimum temperature of 17.8°C was recorded at Jharsuguda in the plains of Odisha in the last 24 hours.
