House Catches Fire During Election Campaign Of BJD In Berhampur

Berhampur, Apr 17: With the General Elections 2024 dates out, the political parties have geared up their election campaigning leaving no stones unturned to woo the voters. 

The Biju Janta Dal (BJD) used fire crackers in its rally but due to the negligence and careless attitude of the party workers a family turned homeless. 

In a fire mishap caused due to the fire crackers the thatched house of Ramesh Behera caught fire and in no time burnt to ashes in Abhayapur village under Jarada police station limits in Ganjam district on Tuesday evening.

Paying no heed to the villagers' pleas of not burning the fire crackers, the party workers burst crackers leading to the mishap.

Hard cash of Rs 10,000 agricultural produces, furniture, clothes all reduced to ashes.

Following the incident, Ramesh Behera has lodged a complaint in the Jarada police station.
