Bhubaneswar, Apr 18: Odisha continued to reel under an intense heat wave condition as mercury levels soared to over 40 degree Celsius at eight places in the State on Thursday.

According to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, the State Capital city- Bhubaneswar was the hottest place with a temperature of 43.6 degree Celsius at 2. 30 PM.
Jharsuguda recorded 42.6 degree Celsius, followed by Balasore at 42.2 degree Celsius, Sambalpur at 41.7°C degree Celsius, Hirakud at 41.4 degree Celsius, Chandbali at 41.2 degree Celsius, Keonjhar at 40.9 degree Celsius and Rourkela at 40.2 degree Celsius.

There will be no large change in maximum temperature (Day Temperature) during next 3 days and slightly fall by 2-3 degree Celsius thereafter at many places over the district of Odisha, the Meteorological Centre said.
The weather department issued orange and yellow warnings of heat wave conditions for several districts in the state during the next four days.
