Malkangiri, Sept 27: Incessant rains have disrupted normal life in the Malkangiri district with the communication system getting disrupted and health centers inundated at most places across the district.
Swelling of the Gurupriya River has posed a threat to the Gurupriya Bridge. Currently, water is flowing just 2 ft below the guarder of the bridge.
On the other hand, the water level in Balimela Dam is also increasing. At the same time, water is flowing in the primary health center compound near Janabai. Water can enter the hospital at any time. The health centre has been set up in a low-lying area. As a result, water river water enters the health centre after incessant rains most of the time.
