Guidelines Issued In Odisha For Mpox

Bhubaneswar, Sept 19: The all important guidelines has been issued for the ongoing threat of Mpox (Monkeypox), said Dr Nilakantha Mishra, Director of Public Health.

"Guidelines have been issued to all the districts. Guidelines have also been issued to Airport and Port Authorities," said Dr Nilakantha Mishra.

Explaining a bit about the guidelines, the Director of Public Health said, "Whoever is travelling abroad or has come in contact with Mpox, they have been kept in isolation. Authorities have been instructed to test their samples."

Dr Nilakantha Mishra has also cleared the doubts over any possible threat of spreading in Odisha, saying not even a single person, having Mpox symptoms, has come to Odisha.

"Mpox has been spreading mostly in Africa. So the state authorities have been instructed to keep a close eye on people coming from Africa," stated Dr Mishra.

In addition, he also said that whoever is coming from affected places, will must have a 21-day isolation.
