Gruesome Act: Widow Killed By Nephew In Ganjam Village

Brahmapur, Nov 8: In a gruesome incident, a woman was mercilessly killed by none other than her nephew at Baradabili village under Dharakota police station in Ganjam district on Friday. 

The deceased has been identified as Sasmita Sahu and the accused as Balaram Sahu. 

According to the information, Sasmita, a 32-year-old widow, was alone in her room. Balaram slit her neck with a knife and she died on the spot. The reason behind the incident is yet to be known. 
Sasmita has a 10-year-old daughter. 

Based on a complaint, a team of Dharakote police went to the village and managed to nab Balaram even though he was trying to flee from the site. The police sent the body to Aksa Medical for postmortem and started an investigation.
