Gokulananda Mallick Warns Sellers Against Black Marketing Of Eggs

Bhubaneswar, Dec 18: Odisha Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallick has issued a warning to those who are doing or intend to do black marketing of eggs in the state.

He said that strict action will be taken if anyone being found doing black marketing of eggs in Odisha.

"Strict action will be taken for black marketing of eggs," stated Mallick. "The egg price has hiked in the market. However, prices are gradually coming under control," added the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister.

Reacting to a question over the price rise, Mallick said that it's because of the increase in demand due to cold season and the stock is less.

Speaking about the egg production in the state, Gokulananda Mallick, who is also in charge of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, said that Odisha will soon become self-dependant and the state won't have to depend on other states for eggs.

"The Odisha government is planning to produce more than 10 lakh eggs per day. We are providing necessary helps to poultry farmers," explained Mallick.

"Odisha will be self-dependant and in a few years we won't have to depend on other states for eggs," the Minister of State signed off.
