Ganja Worth Rs 1 Crore Seized, 4 Arrested By STF In Deogarh

Deogarh, Nov 7: In a breakthrough achievement, the Special Tax Force seized over 11 quintals of ganja (cannabis) worth Rs 1 crore while raiding a stockyard at Banjari village under the Riamala police station limits in Deogarh district late Wednesday night. 

The STF seized a hyva, a truck, and a pickup van from the site. Besides, it arrested four persons, including a ganja trader. 

According to the information, a truck was found loaded with 87 sacks of ganja, the market value of which is estimated to cross Rs 1 crore. 

The four arrested people were identified as Ashish Kumar Barik of Railakhole, Subash Sikadar of Bargarh, Ratan Kishore Sahu of Angul, and Samit Nayak of Telibani Vilage of Chhendipada block. 

Ahish is an old ganja trader. Earlier, he was arrested on the charge of illegally transferring over two quintals of ganja.
