New Delhi, Jan 12:  Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has etched his name in the record books by becoming the first male player to be part of 100 victories in T20 International cricket. This historic achievement came on Thursday, January 11th, as India defeated Afghanistan by six wickets in the first T20I of their three-match series in Mohali.

While Sharma himself did not contribute with the bat, being dismissed for a two-ball duck, his mere presence on the field was enough to secure his place in cricket history. Out of India's 100 T20I wins with Sharma in the playing XI, a staggering 40 have come under his leadership as captain.

This remarkable feat is a testament to Sharma's consistent performance and leadership skills in the shortest format of the game. He has been a key player in India's T20I success for over a decade, and his contribution to the team's victories cannot be overstated.

With the T20 World Cup scheduled for later this year, Sharma's experience and leadership will be crucial for India's hopes of lifting the trophy. His place in cricketing history is already secure, and with continued success, he is sure to add even more chapters to his illustrious career.
