Four Critical In Group Fight In Jharpada Jail

Bhubaneswar, Mar 19: In what puts a question mark on the safety aspect of prison inmates, at least four under-trial prisoners were critically injured in a group fight in the Jharpada special jail in the capital city here last night.

The injured were first rushed to the jail hospital and later shifted to the Capital Hospital because of their grievous wounds. Sources said one of the injured has got one of his eyes damaged. 

Sources said two groups of inmates have been engaged in a brawl over some issue for the last two days. 

Though the exact cause behind the fight is yet to be known, it has been alleged that the situation has turned hostile over consumption of brown sugar by some newcomers.
