Former Rajya Sabha MP Dhaneswar Majhi Passes Away

Bhubaneswar, Oct 9: Former Rajya Sabha member and a five-time MLA from Kesinga and Narla Dhaneswar Majhi passed away at the age of 83.

Majhi breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kesinga.

Majhi served as a Rajya Sabha member from 1978 to 1984 and was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Narla and Kesinga constituencies five times. 

Majhi had recently quit the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Tributes poured in from politicians and well-wishers, remembering Majhi’s contributions to Odisha’s development and his dedication to public service.
