Forest Topics To Be Included In The Curriculum Of Students In Odisha: Education Minister Pradhan

Sambalpur, Dec 15: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Sunday said that school syllabus will have a specific subject for forest.

The subjects will work as an awareness as well as help the students gain knowledge about various stories of forest and environment.

"Students in Odisha will read forest stories, which will be added to their syllabus. Following the Education Act, stories of forest will be included in the curriculum of students of Odisha," said Union Minister Pradhan.

The stories will include several knowledgable topics. "The forest where the freedom struggle started and the forests which are connected to the history of the tribal people, children should know about the stories and they will find it in their curriculum," explained the Education Minister.

In addition, Dharmendra Pradhan said that the curriculum will also aware the students about the challenges of protecting the environment and the forests. "These kind of topics will soon be included in national education curriculum," he added.

The Union Minister also praised the Odisha School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond and Forest & Environment Minister Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia saying they have vast knowledge about forests.
 
"We will have a discussion with the Ministers and soon include many forest related history and forest conservation issues in the curriculum of students studying in Odisha," stated Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
