Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: In the changing lifestyle scenario, the focus should be on health welfare instead of illness and wellness. The responsibility of health welfare needs to be handed over to the individual rather than to the hospital.

AIIMS, Bhubaneswar president and noted Cardiologist Dr Akshya Bisoi stated this while speaking at the Argus News' Odisha Health Connect Season 2' conclave here today.

Defining an individual's health as 'one's present state of being wellness, Dr Bisoi said Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister who has focussed on health welfare. People are getting treatment without spending a penny.
Speaking about the brain, Dr Bisoyi narrated in detail how it is impacted by food habits.

He said Rig Veda emphasises fasting. While obesity causes various diseases like diabetes, heart attack and cancer, fasting resolves these problems in a big way. The concept of fasting has been in Indian society for a long, he said.

Stating that all we know brain controls the heart, Dr Bisoi said the heart also controls the brain through food habits. He said if one controls food habits and feelings, most of the diseases, about 70 per cent, can be controlled by him.

The Odisha Health Conclave Season 2 discussed on Affordable, Accessible and Integrated Health services in Odisha.
