Fisheries Deputy Director Under Vigilance Scanner

Bhubaneswar, July 22: Vigilance sleuths conducted searches in the house and office room of Fisheries Deputy Director Basant Kumar Das at different places based on a complaint of misappropriation of Rs 1.05 crore lodged against him.  

Anti-corruption officials simultaneously conducted raids in Das' houses at five different places in the State. Searches are being conducted based on a warrant issued against him. 

Sources said searches were underway in the Deputy Director's rented house in Bhubaneswar and other establishments in Bhadrak, Puri, and Cuttack. 

According to the complaint, Das had allegedly transferred Rs 1.05 crore from the government account to his account a few months back by misusing his authority.
