Fire At Delhi's Alipore Factory, 11 Dead

New Delhi, Feb 16: As many as eleven people were burnt alive in a fire mishap at a factory in Alipore Dayal market here on Thursday evening. 

Intially three people were engulfed in the fire. Later on four people lost their lives while undergoing treatment. Seven more people died while getting treated.

Four including one constable are injured.  

The deceased are yet to be identified and the bodies have been shifted to Babu Jagjeevan Ram Hospital, they said.

The four injured have been identified as Jyoti (42), Divya (20), Mohit Solanki (34) and Karambir, a Delhi police constable.

11 fire brigades were engaged to douse the fire. 

An eyewitness Sumit Bharadwaj said, "The incident took place at around 5.30 pm. Everyone gathered here after hearing an explosion. We tried a lot to douse the fire. Around 7-8 fire tenders reached here and started the fire fighting operation."

The reason behind the fire mishap is not known.
