Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: Rabi Narayan Nayak, Minister of Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, said Tuesday that the Odisha government has taken a call to include eligible benificiaries and exclue the ineligible people from the list of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

The Panchayati Raj Minister, shedding light on the PMAY in Odisha, steps are taken to ensure eligible people will have the facility under PMAY scheme.

Speaking on the eligiblity criteria, Naik said, "People with monthly income of less than Rs 10,500 will be declared eligible for the PMAY."

PMAY: What's Needed & What's Provided

  • Linking mobile number with Aadhaar card is mandatory
  • Benificiaries must apply through official app by themselves
  • Finger prints needed for poor people, which will be linked to Aadhaar Card
  • If found eligible, both father and son will get a house each
  • Physically challenged and widows will also get houses
  • If 15 to 20 families don't have house or land, houses will be clustered in the village
  • Adequate facilities like roads, electricity and water supply as well as playgrounds will be provided

The Panchayati Raj Minister also took a dig at the previous government over the listing of benificiaries the last time.

"Many eligible benificiaries didn't find themselves in the list due to unfair listing of people," said Rabi Narayan Naik, adding that "those, who weren't there in the list despite being eligible, will be enlisted and get the benifits."

He also said that the department staff will be trained to conduct a smooth listing of benificiaries for the PMAY and it will be completed within a couple of months.
