Elephant Tramples Woman In Keonjhar Jungles

Keonjhar, Apr 18: A woman died in a wild elephant attack in Nuagaon in Guali Gram Panchayat under Barbil range in Keonjhar district on Thursday.

The deceased is identified as Sumi Munda (45), the wife of Chamara Munda a resident of Dalak street in Nuagaon village. 

On receiving information, Guali forester and Rugudi police rescued the dead body and sent it for post mortem.

Reports indicate that Sumi alongwith her sister-in-law Sulochana Munda had gone to the jungle to collect leaves when the tusker attacked them. 

Witnessing the jumbo, Sulochana escaped the scene but Sumi fell got trampled by the tusker and lost her life.
