Elderly Woman Killed As Truck Rams Into Roadside House In Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj, July 6: In a tragic incident, a 65-year-old woman was killed as a truck rammed into her house at Dandabose in the Rairangpur area in Mayurbhanj district this morning. In the incident, six other members of the deceased's family were miraculously saved.

According to the information, a truck bearing registration number OR 09P 9241 was on its way from Taganagar to Rairangpur when the driver lost control over its wheels. Probably due to drowsiness, the driver drove the vehicle into the roadside house.

The deceased elderly woman was identified as Kamala Patra (65).

Tenson ran high as family members of the deceased and villagers blocked the National Highway 220 soon after the accident. They said they would not withdraw the blockade until the family is not compensated adequately.

Police were trying to convince the mob to clear the NH.
