Bhubaneswar, Mar 1: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday carried out raids in multiple locations across Odisha as part of its probe into the alleged financial irregularities linked to illegal mining cases.
As per reports, the raids are underway at Rourkela, Barbil, Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar.
In Rourkela, the ED officials are carrying out their raids at the house and office of chartered accountant and businessman, Ajay Kadmawala.
On the other hand, a team of ED is conducting raids at the properties associated with businessman Deepak Gupta at Barbil in Keonjhar district.
In 2013, Odisha Vigilance had arrested Gupta, the prime accused in the Rs 1,800 crore illegal mining activities in mineral-rich Keonjhar district.
Similarly, the ED officials are reportedly conducting raids at the residences and offices of some mine leaseholders in Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda.
