Delhi: 18-year-old stabbed to death; accused held

New Delhi, Aug 15: An 18-year-old youth was stabbed to death in the national capital, police said on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Ashu, was stabbed to death in the Dwarka area of the national capital. The accused, a child in conflict with the law (CCL) has been apprehended, said police.

A PCR call was received on Tuesday night at the Police Station Dwarka North from Bharat Vihar, mentioning that a scuffle broke out in which the caller's brother got stabbed, after which the police immediately reached the spot, said police.

The victim was shifted to Indira Gandhi Hospital, Dwarka and was later referred to Safdarjung Hospital where he was declared dead by the hospital authorities, added the police.

FIR was registered under appropriate sections and later sections were converted to that of murder after the injured succumbed to injuries at Safdarjung Hospital, said police.

The accused was arrested on Wednesday. A kitchen knife has been recovered from the CCL. The scuffle reportedly occurred because of an old animosity, added the police.

Further investigation is underway.
