Daily Wager Commits 'Suicide' Under Loan Stress In Cuttack Village

Cuttack, Apr 19: A daily wager Cuttack district's Salepur area reportedly committed suicide after failing to repay a loan he had taken from a private finance firm a few years back. 

The incident occurred at Bodamundei village of Barigol gram panchayat under the Salepur police station limits in Cuttack district.  The deceased has been identified as Ramchandra Bhoi (30). 

According to the information, Ramchandra, a daily wager, had incurred a loan from a finance company to meet her basic needs. But he could not repay the borrowed amount in time. While the finance firm insisted on early repayment of the loan, his failure led to a quarrel between him and his wife often. He was under stress and, thus, committed suicide, according to a complaint filed by his family members at the Salepur PS. 

Acting on the complaint, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent the same for postmortem. 

Further investigation is on, said police.
