Cyclone Dana: Potato And Onion Prices Skyrocket In Cuttack

Cuttack, Oct 22: Amid the scare of Possible Cyclone Dana, the prices of potatoes and onions have skyrocketed in Cuttack.

According to the reports, potatoes are being sold at Rs 50 per kg whereas onions are being sold at Rs 70 per kg in Cuttack's Chatrabazaar.

The traders are selling vegetables at higher prices, for which consumers are unhappy by the blackmarketing.

Minister of Supply Krishnachandra Patra has banned black marketing. He has clearly said, “Strict action will be taken if dishonest traders engage in black market.” The Minister of Supply has instructed the departmental officials to keep a strict watch on the black market of essential food items.
