Cuttack, Oct 13: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has said the State government will take all possible steps to make Cuttack a smart city.

CM Majhi said this after visiting various puja pandals in the millennium city on Saturday.

“There have been long-standing demands for making Cuttack a Smart City. I am aware of the pain and agony in every Cuttackia's heart when the city was left out from the list of 96 smart cities announced by the Centre in the country in 2015. Our Government is aware of it. I will review it during my next visit to Cuttack," the Chief Minister said.

“Our government will take all possible steps to ensure that Cuttack gets the smart city status soon,” he added.

CM Majhi visited several Durga Puja pandals and offered prayers to Maa Durga on the occasion of Maha Navami here yesterday.

"Cuttack is a historical city and known for its brotherhood. I am happy and thankful to the puja committees and people of the city for the peaceful celebration of Durga puja," Majhi told reporters after visiting puja pandals in the city.

In the silver city of Cuttack, which is famous for Durga Puja, the festival is being celebrated not just as the biggest one but also as the brightest example of communal harmony. People from different communities have been taking part in the celebration.
