Cuttack: 3-year-old Girl Student Locked In Her Anganwadi Centre

Cuttack, Feb 11: A pre-school child was locked in her Anganwadi centre (AWC) by the Anganwadi worker (AWW) in Nilakanthapur village Debabhumi area under Narasinghpur block of Cuttack district this morning.

The AWW Sukanti Raulo and helper cum cook Lilabati Raulo had locked the centre and gone away. 

The 3-year-old girl daughter of Naresh Pradhan had gone to her AWC for her class but she did not return home on her usual time. 
Worried by this Naresh searched in the nearby places and when he went to check in the centre he heard his daughter's wails from inside. With the help of villagers the centre's lock was broken and the girl was rescued after two hours.

On being questioned AWW Sukanti Raulo said that she had gone for a meeting and is unaware of the incident. 

The cook said," this is a huge mistake and will not be repeated again."
