Crucial Meeting Today Over The Selection Of New Odisha PCC Chief

Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: A crucial meeting will take place Monday over the appointment of new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief of Odisha.

The All India Congress Committee has given the crucial responsibility to Charan Das Mahant, senior Congress leader & Opposition Leader in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, and another Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan.

Mahant and Natarajan will be in Bhubaneswar for the meeting, where the new Odisha PCC chief will be elected.

The meeting will take place at the Congress Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Besides Charan Das Mahant and Meenakshi Natarajan, Steering Committee members as well as district presidents will be in attendence.

After the selection of the new PCC chief in the meeting, a report will be submitted to the high command, who will put the official seal and approve the appointment of the Odisha PCC chief.

As per reports, three senior leaders -- Mohammed Moquim, Bhakta Charan Das and Biswaranjan Mohanty -- are vying for the major position.

The post of Odisha PCC Chief is vacant since May 2022. However, Sarat Pattanayak has been serving as the acting president after the resignation of former PCC chief Niranjan Patnaik.
