Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: Authorities will demolish Shree Baikuntha Dham Ashram, which has been built illegally on government land in Ghatikia near Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar, tomorrow, officials said on Thursday.

A joint team of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and Police Commissionerate will demolish the Ashram at 8: 00 AM on Friday, they added saying that the Ashram has been built on 0.140 acre of government land.

Recently, the Ashram landed in controversy after the ashram chief, identified as Kashinath Mishra, allegedly projected his minor son as a divine figure and asked devotees to worship him ‘Kalki Avatar’ an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

A video of the boy being worshiped with Tulsi and flower at his feet was found in social media. After this, a group of youths entered the Ashram and protested. To their astonishment, they also found costly vehicles in the Ashram.

Last week, a voluntary organisation lodged a complaint against the head of the ashram at Bharatpur police station for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of millions of people.
