Congress Releases First List of Candidates for Lok Sabha, Assembly Polls In Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Apr 2: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Tuesday released its first list of candidates for the ensuing elections to Lok Sabha and State Assembly polls in Odisha.

The Congress announced the names of eight candidates of 21 Lok Sabha seats and 49 candidates of the total 147 Assembly constituencies in Odisha for the upcoming polls.

The grand old party renominated Koraput MP Saptagiri Ulaka for the second time. It also fielded poular cine actor Manoj Mishra from Balangir Lok Sabha constituency.

Senior leader Sanjay Bhoi will contest from Bargarh, while Draupadi Majhi will try her luck from Kalahandi seat.

 



OPCC president Sarat Pattanayak will contest from Nuapada Assembly seat, veteran leader Bhakta Das will contest from Narla, Bijay Patnaik from Paralakhemundi, Tara Prasad Bahinipati from Jeypore and  Santosh Singh Saluja from Kantabanji.


 

Odisha will vote in the Lok Sabha elections and Assembly polls, which are being held simultaneously, in four phases. The polling will be held on May 13, 20, 25 and June 1.
