CM Majhi Leads Yoga Celebrations In Bhubaneswar; Ministers, MLAs At Other Places

Bhubaneswar, June 21: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led State-level event of the 10th International Yoga Day celebrations at Kalinga Stadium here on Friday. 

Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Suryabanshi Suraj and many government officials and sports persons attended the event. 

This year's celebration theme, "Yoga for Self and Society," emphasises yoga's impact on personal well-being and community health.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida led Yoga Day celebrations at the Sun Temple at Konark. Puri MP Sambit Patra participated in the event. 

Ministers led Yoja celebrations at different places across the State. 

According to the information, Forest and Environment and Labour Minister Ganesh Ram Khuntia and Rairangpur MLA Jalen Naik participated yoga event at the Biju Patnaik Stadium at Rairangpur. 

Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethi, Mahanga MLA Sarada Pradhan, BJP leader Sritam Das, and district Collector and Sub-Collector joined the yoga celebrations held at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Cuttack. 

In Rayagada, the district administration organised the International Day for Yoga at the indoor stadium at Ambaguda. Nawarangpur MLA Gourishankar Majhi, Rayagada district Collector Manoj Satyaban Mahajan, SP Harish Bisi, and members of different private organisations participated in the event. 

Food and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra led the Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium event at Dhenkanal.

MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai attended the yoga day celebrated at Jagatsinghopur. 

BJP MLA Laxman Bag graced the yoga event at Dhanu Yatra Mahotsav ground at Bongomunda under the Kantabanji Assembly constituency. 

Cooperation, Handlooms, Textiles, and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Samant led the event at the Indoor Stadium Jajpur. 

Aska MLA Soroj Padhi joined the event held at the multipurpose indoor stadium at Aska. 

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan led the yoga celebrations at Banapur in Khordha district. 

The International Day of Yoga is observed every year on June 21 to highlight its immense benefits for overall health and well-being. This observance was established by the United Nations in 2014.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the idea of a global day dedicated to yoga during his 2014 address to the United National General Assembly (UNGA).
