Bhubaneswar, Feb 29: Senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and Chilika MLA Prashant Jagdev is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here in Odisha on Thursday, sources said.
According to sources, Jagdev resigned from the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
Jagdev won as an MLA from Begunia constituency in Khordha district in 2014 on a BJD ticket. In 2019, he successfully contested from Chilika Assembly Constituency.
On February 12, 2022 Jagdev was reportedly assaulted by a mob after he allegedly rammed his car into a crowd in front of the block office in Banpur of Khordha district.
Later, Jagdev was suspended from the BJD.
