Mayurbhanj, June 22: Commuters to and fro Baripada faced difficulties in moving to their destination as bus services remained disrupted following a bloody brawl between bus staffs that erupted over the timing of a bus last night
As many as six persons were injured in the incident. While all of them were rushed to the Baripada hospital, three of them were later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack given their critical condition.
According to the information, a private bus named 'Maa Durga' commutes between Rairangpur and Berhampur via Baripada. Yesterday, the entry timing of the bus to Baripada bus stand was opposed by other bus owners. This led to a heated argument between them. Subsequently, they were engaged in a bloody clash. In the incident, six people from both sides were injured.
Following this, bus services were stopped due to protests by either party.
Police have registered two cases based on complaints filed by both parties.
Due to the disruption of bus services, people have faced difficulties moving outside and vice versa.
Latest reports said Bus Owners' Association has resolved the matter and announced to resume bus services from 7 pm this evening.
