Bus Overturns In Khordha; 8 including children Critical

Khordha, Dec 16: As many as 8 passengers were injured, some of them critically, and many others escaped unhurt as a bus, in which they were travelling, skidded off the road and overturned at Baghamari near Khordha on Monday wee hours. 

According to the information, the ill-fated bus was on the way from Bhubaneswar to Bolangir when it overturned at Baghamari on the National Highway-57 at around 2.30 am. Rescue work was delayed as the bus overturned to its gate side. 

The injured include some children. They all have been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Khordha. 

While the exact reason behind the mishap is not known, it is suspected that the driver might have lost control of the wheels due to drowsiness in the night. 

Police have seized the vehicle and started an investigation.
