Boudh: Bus Hits Bike On NH-57; One Dead, Two Critical

Boudh, Aug 18: In a tragic incident, a night coach bus hit a bike on the NH-57 late Saturday night killing a woman and injuring two others. The two injured are in critical condition.

The accident took place near Dimiripali Chowk on NH-57 under Baunsuni Police Station Limits in Boudh district. The bus was travelling to Balangir from Bhubaneswar. The bus sped away from the spot after hitting the bike.

The deceased has been identified as Bisakha Bhoi, a native of Mundipadar village in Manupali Panchayat of Boudh district. The trio were returning from a medical and heading home when tragedy struck.

The angry villagers have blocked the NH-57 in protest demanding compensation for the damage, while the movement on the NH has been affected with vehicles are unable to move past the spot. A tense situation has arisen at the scene.

Baunsuni Police has rushed to the spot after getting the information and trying to bring the situation under control.
